Silver nanowires with high yield, uniform size and high aspect ratio were successfully synthesized by a simple and effective polyol method under low temperature and quiescent conditions, adopting FeCl3·6H2O as the nucleation control agent. The silver nanowires have an average length of 80-110 μm and an average diameter of 40-80 nm. Thus, the aspect ratio of the nanowires is greater than 1000. A series of silver nanowires dispersion with different mass volume concentration were prepared in anhydrous ethanol. These silver nanowires dispersion is used to fabricate transparent conductive silver nanowires films by spin-coating method, which shows a square resistance of 6 Ω/sq and visible light transmittance of about 80%. In addition, the influence of spin coating lays and spin coating speed of silver nanowires dispersion with different mass volume concentration on the properties of silver nanowires films are investigated.
