The invention discloses a method for solidifying tailing sands by active magnesium oxide-based microorganisms, and a product thereof. Active magnesium oxide is used as a basic solidifier, and a microbial technology is used to provide CO2 required for carbonization and reduce heavy metals in the tailing sands, so the advantages of a technology for solidifying soil with magnesium oxide and the microbial technology are fully used; carbonate ions produced by hydrolysis of urea with bacillus are used for carbonizing the magnesium oxide solidified soil, so the strength of bricks is improved; and theextracellular complexation effect, extracellular precipitation effect and intracellular accumulation effect of the microorganisms on the heavy metals are used to reduce the content of heavy metal ions. The method has the advantages of simple process, sintering avoiding, short construction period, high strength, greenness, environmental friendliness, achieving of the win-win situation of environmental benefits and economic benefits, and good application prospect.
