  • Improved single-variable neuron closed-loop controller and its application in the full-hydraulic straightening machine

      In this paper, using the advantages of single variable neural network and PID controller, the weight values are initialized by the combination of the PID parameters tuning and the existing knowledge of the controlled object. On this basis, the improved single variable neuron closed-loop controller is simple and fast because of the simplified control algorithm. And by the simulation comparison, the proposed method of this article is much better than the method of the conventional single neuron controller.

  • Optimizing the FMM-BEM for 3-D elastic problem

    • 摘要:

      This paper presents an optimization to improve the fast multipole boundary element method (FM-BEM). By the Taylor series expansion, boundary integral equation (BIE) is divided into two parts. Every part takes different resolve method between boundary elements, the influence coefficients have been improved on the efficiency of calculation. Compare with the conventional FM-BEM, this new method is more appropriate for using in large scale engineering calculation.

  • Research on mechanical model and properties of new-type negative offset structure in spatial seven-bar heavy shear

    • 摘要:

      According to revised Cailikefu's rolling shear force formula , motion path equation of spatial seven-bar path is built, and mechanical model, with such new structural features as negative offset, is thus successfully established for 2800 mm heavy shear of some Iron and Steel Company. Shear force and bar force of steel plate, before and after adoption of negative offset structure , are analyzed , as well as horizontal force component of mechanism that influences pure rolling shear and back-wall push force that keeps blade clearance. The discovery is that back-wall push force could be kept large enough at rolling start-up (i.e. the time that the maximum rolling shear produces), meanwhile, back-wall push force is the most approximate to side forces with adoption of 60 mm-100 mm offset. Theoretical results and on-site shear quality both indicate that new structural features such as negative offset plays an important role in ensuring pure rolling shear and keeping blade clearance constant, which provide an effective means to improve quality of steel plate.

  • Study on contact damage of sleeve of oil-film bearing in rolling mill

      BEM for elasto-plastic contact problem is employed to study the deformation and loading station of the sleeve and roller neck of film bearing in rolling mill under special way of assembly in this paper. It discussed the influence of surface damages of sleeve and roller neck caused by its contact pressure and deformation distribution. The new method had been given to reduce the wear of the contact surface between the sleeve and roller neck. The validity of the analysis and the modified scheme are proved by the experiments.

  • The mathematical models of the best adjusting of shear blade clearance of disk shear in cutting plate

      In this paper the main factors of impacting the quality in cutting the plate between the Shear blade clearance adjustment and control were analyzed, Focused on further analyzing all relevant factors on adjusting the Shear blade clearance , combined with the accumulated process parameters in production of Thick Steel Plate Plant of He Bei Wen Feng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Proposed for the first time the mathematical models of the best adjusting of Shear blade clearance of disk shear in cutting plate.

  • Analysis of Startup Process and Its Optimization for a Two-Stand Reversible Cold Rolling Mill

      Dynamic characteristic analysis of a two-stand reversible cold rolling mill in the startup process was carried out. The delay algorithm of the interstand thickness was proposed. A new method combined with the accelerated secant and the tangent methods was established to solve the simultaneous equations. The thickness and interstand tension transition processes with different static tension establishing processes were analyzed. Both mills were operated under constant rolling force control mode in the above process. The results show that the strip thickness in the rolling gap reduces in the static mill screwdown process. The entry stand runs inversely to establish the static interstand tension. This area becomes an abnormal thickness reduction area of the incoming strip. It results in several abnormal interstand tension increases in the subsequent startup process. The tension increase leads to an impact force on the strip that is the main reason of the strip breakage in the startup process. So the static tension establishing process was optimized, and the interstand tension fluctuation and the strip breakage accidents both reduced significantly. The results are beneficial to the startup process of the two-stand reversible cold rolling mill.

  • Analysis of the mill roller bearing using mixed fast multipole boundary element method

      A new method named mixed fast multipole boundary element (MFM-BEM) is introduced in this paper to solve the contact problem of mill roller bearing. Incompatible elements and compatible elements are used to construct shape functions in non-contact area and contact area. On the one hand, MFM-BEM avoids satisfying the conditions of precise coordination in compatible elements, on the other hand, this method retains the merits of fast multipole boundary element method (FM-BEM). Through numerical examples, it clearly demonstrates that the calculation time and accuracy are improved. MFM-BEM provides an efficient numerical method for designing and analyzing the mill roller bearing. It also provides theoretical basis for prolonging mill roller bearing service life.

  • Research on leveling model of combination leveler

    • 摘要:

      The evolvement of plate in 15-roller combination leveler has been studied in this paper using both geometrical analysis and FEM. The results show that the bending deformation and curvature evolvement are different from those obtained by general leveler. The technologies of parallel leveling and tension leveling are adaptive to the roll system of combination leveler, which not only can improve leveling precision, but also can erase the influence of negative torque on leveling roll, thus improving the leveling strength capacity of leveling materials. Meanwhile, a new calculating method of leveling process was pointed out, whose results were basically consistent to those of experimental results.

  • Hot Rolled Strip Re-reddening Temperature Changing Law during Ultra-fast Cooling

      Temperature deviation between surface and the center of hot rolled strip is formed during ultra-fast cooling (UFC). Surface temperature would rise when temperature deviation goes up to an extent, and strip re-reddening phenomenon will appear. Strip re-reddening affects the stability of strip microstructure, property and temperature control precision. Thus, it is necessary to conduct research on re-reddening temperature changing law to improve strip property and temperature control precision. Strip temperature trends for various strip thicknesses and ultra-fast cooling rates were obtained by numerical calculation method. Re-reddening temperature, temperature deviation between surface and center, and boundary layer position changing law were obtained. By comparison, some conclusions were obtained: UFC re-reddening temperature and laminar cooling (LC) re-reddening temperature were linear to ultra-fast cooling rate respectively. Ultra-fast cooling rate affected UFC re-reddening temperature greatly, but it had little effect on LC re-reddening temperature. Equations which were used to calculate UFC re-reddening temperature, LC re-reddening temperature and maximum temperature deviation were obtained. The position of boundary layer stayed in 1/4 strip thickness.

  • Analysis of bearing load distribution and elastic deformation of roll system for four high strip mill

      To precisely analyze the bearing load distribution and its influence on the strip shape of four-high strip mill, the dynamic explicit three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element model (FEM) was established based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA software, which includes backup roll bearings and its chock components, strip, backup rolls and work rolls. The bearing force conditions of different rolling processes such as biting stage, steady rolling stage and exiting stage were analyzed. The bearing load distribution rules of the whole rolling process were obtained. Compared to the results of the traditional FEM with rigid roll neck, the predicted transverse strip thickness distribution of the new model is much closer to the experimental result.
